QS-MAPLE 2018, the Middle East and Africa's Annual Strategic Summit for the Advancement of University Excellence in All its Forms will be taking place tonight, Sunday 4th March 2018.
The Summit, of which the UoB was selected as a strategic partner, will be held at the Gulf Hotel from 4-6 March, under the patronage of HE the Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University of Bahrain, Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi. The Summit will be attended by around 200 participants from higher education institutions, representing more than 70 universities from 40 countries in the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
The UoB president, Prof. Riyad Yousef Hamzah, stressed the importance of holding conferences concerned with higher education, which provide valuable opportunities for networking, exchanging best practice, and discussing recent developments, particularly in the Middle East and surrounding countries.
He added that the UoB does not only attach special importance to excellence as reflected in its academic programs, it also strives to adopt the best practices which enhance both the learning process and administrative procedures. This is reflected in the infrastructure and logistics aimed at achieving excellence as an integral part of education and the learning process, in line with the advanced international standards, proven to be successful in this field.
Over the course of three days, the Summit will discuss a wide range of issues that will be divided into four main tracks: learning, education and employment; strategic planning and research; internationalization in higher education; and, finally, quality assurance, reliability and global recognition. A total of 50 research papers will be presented at the Summit, based on the universities’ everyday experiences.
